ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Interstate 75 southbound was completely shut down after a bus caught fire fire, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).
The fire, which started just after 3 p.m., is before Northside Drive and Howell Mill Road. A couple lanes reopened around 4:15 p.m.
Footage from the First Alert Chopper shows the charred bus on the median of the highway.
Video circulating on social media shows that it is an Xpress bus, a commuter coach service run by the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority.
GDOT said the lanes are expected to clear by 5 p.m.
There is no word yet on how the fire started or if anyone was injured or if passengers were on board.
