Holy Fire Missions is inviting the community to a series of outreach events and revival nights aimed at uplifting spirits and providing support and resources to those in need.
Pastor Jadina Toribio of Holy Fire Missions in Atlanta said the purpose of the four-day event, called “Deliverance and Healing,” is to inspire change and build a stronger, more united community in Lorain through powerful sermons, live music, free meals and community outreach activities.
“It’s time to be the demonstration of Jesus that others need,” Toribio said. “If even one life changes for the better — overcoming challenges like low income, depression or addiction — our mission is fulfilled.
“A stronger community is built when we unite and support each other.”
The event includes:
• From 3-5 p.m. June 20 a community outreach event at Central Park, 401 W. 26th St. in Lorain
• From 3-5 p.m. June 21 a community outreach event at Oakwood Park, 2047 E. 36th St. in Lorain
• At 7 p.m. June 22 and 23 revival nights at God’s Believers in Christ Church, 520 W. 22nd St. in Lorain
Toribio said her ministry has a team of 30-35 people coming to Lorain from different states and nations representing various ministries.
They are coming to the International City to share the message of hope and what can happen when churches and communities unite; how lives can be transformed; and encouraged to know that they have been given a task to raise up a new generation, she said.
“Not in another land or another state, but how they can be of impact right where they are at,” Toribio said. “If only one life might be inspired to change the trajectory of the current state of Lorain’s low income, suicidal rates, depression, anxiety, addiction numbers, then it would have all been worth it and we would gladly do it again and again.
“Part of a stronger community is getting everyone to be on board with what God will do for this town.”
Event sponsors include Cookie Crumbl, Sam’s Club, Kool Kat 98.9 FM and Power 89.1 FM, Toribio said.
