Flight path of plane carrying metro Atlanta family had stormy weather, agency says

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The federal government released new information in a small plane crash that killed an entire metro Atlanta family.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The federal government released new information in a small plane crash that killed an entire metro Atlanta family.

A single-engine Piper PA-46 crashed around 2 p.m. Sunday near Sidney, New York. The plane was carrying a metro Atlanta family who was returning from a baseball tournament in Cooperstown, New York.

The victims were identified as Roger Beggs, 76, his daughter Laura Van Epps, 43, her husband Ryan Van Epps, 42 and their two children James Van Epps, 12 and Harrison Van Epps, 10.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), there was stormy weather along the flight’s path. The NTSB won’t have a final report for at least another year.
