ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - At least one person died in a major crash that has most lanes of I-85 South blocked in Gwinnett County Sunday afternoon, police said.
The collision on the interstate just north of Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road has shut down all but the far left lane at the I-985 merge, according to Gwinnett County police.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes as officers work to investigate and clear the scene. Police said around 2 p.m. they expect the road to be blocked “for some time.”
