ATLANTA — One man is dead, and another man is hurt after an argument escalated into a shooting inside a neighborhood grocery store on Monday afternoon, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

APD officers responded around noon to 875 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, the address of the Grocery Brothers (Family Grocery Store LLC). The grocery store is located in Atlanta's Adair Park neighborhood, not far from Kindezi at Gideons Elementary School.

When officers arrived, APD said they found the two men shot-- one of the men was pronounced dead by EMS on the scene. The other man was taken to Grady Hospital in stable condition, police added.

APD Lt. Homicide Commander Andrew Smith said surveillance video shows the two men got into an argument and began shooting at each other. Smith said investigators believe at least five shots were fired.

Smith added that the employees and customers at the grocery store were not hurt.

Investigators are still looking into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

11Alive crews at the scene saw several APD patrol vehicles and crime scene tape surrounding the front of the grocery store.
