The state also requires several essential lifesaving devices to be present:

Life Ring: A flotation device attached to a rope, which must be readily accessible within the pool area. The rope should be long enough to reach across the pool.

Reaching Pole: A non-telescoping pole, at least 12 feet long, must be available for rescuing swimmers in distress.

First Aid Kit: A well-stocked first aid kit must be on-site and easily accessible for minor injuries or medical emergencies.

Emergency Telephone: An emergency telephone or another communication device, with posted instructions for contacting emergency services, must be present in the pool area. This device should be hardwired and weatherproof.

Additionally, each pool must be enclosed by a fence at least 4 feet high, with a securely latching door. If there is no lifeguard on duty, a sign stating "No Lifeguard on Duty" along with emergency contact information must be posted.
