ATLANTA — Atlanta Police are investigating after one person was found dead following a shooting in the city's Old Fourth Ward neighborhood.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Chad Dillon, 33.
Officers with APD were called out to 480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave. NE around 3:45 p.m. after they received a call about Dillon, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. When officers and medical first responders arrived, the 33-year-old was found to be in critical condition but died at the scene shortly after, police said. Lt. Andrew Smith, the homicide commander with APD, said the shooting appears to be "targeted."
The address appears to be near the location of Tribute Lofts of Atlanta, a condo complex in Old Fourth Ward.
Details are limited on what exactly happened. Police are unsure what led up to the shooting.
