Independence Day is near, and Atlantans have plenty of reasons - and ways - to celebrate. One of the classics is fireworks, and communities in and around the city are set to deliver in a big way. Here are some of the more prominent opportunities for spectacular displays you won’t soon forget.

Stone Mountain Fantastic Fourth Celebration

By day: enjoy all the attractions Stone Mountain has to offer, from a hike up the mountain to live entertainment. By night: take in a world-class fireworks show lauded in local and national publications as one of the best.

Salute to America

Fireworks at Six Flags Over Georgia

Stay after a day of playing to see fireworks over one of Georgia’s most prominent theme parks! A VIP Fireworks Party will give you access to games, giveaways, food and water park access after hours.

City of Marietta’s 4th in the Park Celebration

The day starts with the Let Freedom Ring Parade, continues with an arts and crafts festival, proceeds through a concert and bell ringing ceremony and ends with a fireworks show after dark in Glover Park. Featured band this year is Savannah Jack.

It’s another way to experience Marietta’s fabulous fireworks! The Marietta History Center will sell a limited number of tables for spectacular views in front of Kennesaw House.

Bring a picnic and blanket and family and friends out to Wills Park to celebrate our nation’s independence. Although charcoal grills and consumer fireworks are not allowed, you may bring a small propane grill with a permit from the city of Alpharetta.
