2. Dickey Farms - Musella
Dickey Farms has been growing peaches for more than 120 years! This must-see peach packinghouse is a great summer day trip, located about 1.5 hours south of downtown Atlanta, where families can take home peaches, play on the playground, farmer's tractor, and more. Note that Dickey isn't U-pick, but visitors can schedule a packinghouse tour. And don't forget to try the homemade peach ice cream!

3. Jaemor Farms - Alto
This 150-acre farm produces 33 varieties of peaches and sells them (and a lots of peach-based treats) at the market. Jaemor offers customers a chance to pick their own peaches during the U-Pick Peach Day weekends (check with the farm for date details). Visit Jaemor to book a tour/field trip or stop by the market and buy packed peaches, as well as jams, jellies, soups, and more.
4. Lane Southern Orchards - Fort Valley
With over 11,000 acre orchards in Fort Valley, Lane Southern offers a day of peaches and a farm-themed playground! Located off I75, Lane Southern Orchards grows peaches, strawberries, and pecans, and sells items including jams, pies, and breads. Schedule a field trip to the orchard, where kids can learn about Georgia agriculture.
5. Pearson Farm - Fort Valley
Though not a U-pick farm, Pearson Farm gives visitors a chance to watch peachpacking during peach season. Watch peaches roll down the belts into boxes to be shipped all over the country. In addition to watching the packing process, sample peach ice cream, peach cobbler, peach pound cake, peach preserves, and more. Bonus: There are pecans available for much of the year as well.
6. Penelope's Peaches - Newnan
Enjoy a fun summer day at Penelope's Peaches. Kids will love this u-pick farm with its sweet, juicy peaches —make sure you message the farm through their Facebook page to make a picking reservation ahead of time.
7. Southern Belle Farm - McDonough
Southern Belle Farm is a reliable source for great u-pick fun —throughout the seasons, visitors can pick strawberries, pumpkins, blueberries, blackberries, and more. During summer, this u-pick farm offers 10 different varieties of peaches. U-pick peaches are $15.95 for half-peck; $23.95 for peck (when available). Visit the Country Market for pre-picked peaches, as well as tasty items like jams, breads, and more, and see the animal farm for more fun.
8. Sugar Hill Berry Farm - Murrayville
This family-owned farm grows peaches, blueberries, muscadines, and vegetables. Sugar Hill had to close last year due to crop conditions but things are looking good for the 2024 peach season! This farm is a great stop to pick up delicious peaches that come straight from the fields to the general store.

Although the state of Georgia is a great destination for beach vacations from May to August, the fall season also has much to offer visitors.
About two hours north of Atlanta sits Helen, a mountain hamlet of alpine-themed architecture and German-influenced cuisine that’s just weird enough to be more charming than corny.
We’re not going to sugar coat things, Georgians.

One of my favorite things about Atlanta is that even though it's a big city, it remains a collection of neighborhoods.
