1. Watch some fabulous firework displays in Atlanta
One of the best ways to celebrate Fourth weekend is by catching an incredible fireworks display! Watch in awe as beautiful fireworks light up the ATL sky in red, white, and blue! 2. Go to the biggest firework show in Atlanta at Peach State Block Party

When: Thursday, July 4th from · 2pm – 10pm
The biggest party of the summer is Peach State Block Party at Underground Atlanta! On July 4th, expect a massive showing (last year there were more than 2,000 attendees) and tons of fun! The party includes live music, food trucks, games, dancing, local vendors, and of course, a spectacular fireworks show over Atlanta’s skyline as soon as it gets dark.

3. Head to a Backyard BBQ Fest by Bonfire ATL
For a super fun 4th of July Celebration, check out Atlanta’s 4th of July Firework Festival! Bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs for a nice afternoon and evening out in the lawn! Gates open at 3pm, and you can grab free food from the grill and free popsicles until 4pm! (You’ll need to purchase a cooler pass if you’re bringing outside food or drinks!)
This event will have food trucks and vendors, live DJs, a concert stage, and so much more! And of course, as soon as it gets dark–FIREWORKS!

4. Celebrate Independence Day at the Distillery of Modern Art
Along with having some of the best seats in the house for the Chamblee City Hall fireworks show, the Distillery of Modern Art is hosting a fantastic Fourth party! Bring your lawn chair and enjoy delicious DoMA cocktails and live music! DoMA will open at 5pm, and the firework show at Chamblee City Hall will begin at 6:30pm!

5. Six Flags Over Georgia
It doesn’t get anymore American than celebrating Fourth of July weekend at a Six Flags event sponsored by Coca-Cola! With white knuckle rides, a water park, and epic fireworks displays throughout the weekend, you don’t want to miss out on Six Flags Over Georgia’s July 4th Fest!

7. Cheer on the competitors at Red’s Beer Garden’s iconic Hot dog eating contest
No 4th of July event list would be complete without a hotdog eating contest! If you’re looking for a place to watch competitors throw back hotdogs… look no further! Red’s Beer Garden is hosting their annual Hot Dog Eating Contest on Cheer on the participating dog-champions, all while enjoying the unbeatable selection of brews and beers on offer at Red’s Beer Garden. 8. Run in the AJC Peachtree Road Race
It’s almost time for the 55th Running of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race! You can take part in this epic 10K run around Atlanta! As one of the largest 10K’s in the world, spectating is just as fun as running (more fun, for my non-runners)! And it’s for a great cause, too! Learn all about the run here!
The race will start at Lenox Square Mall and finish in Piedmont Park!
9. Get a red, white, and blue bagel at Goldbergs Fine Foods!
