Atlanta is gearing up as Usher's New Look (UNL), a leading nonprofit organization in youth education and empowerment, prepares to host its 25th annual Disruptivator Summit, titled "Living In Your Legacy". According to a MarketWatch release, the event will see a gathering of more than 500 students from across the United States, making it the largest youth conference in the Southeast dedicated to bolstering the potential of underserved communities through education and leadership training.
Set to unfold from today to July 26 at Oglethorpe University, local volunteers have been hands-on, assembling swag bags brimming with donations from global partners for the 400 teens expected to arrive from 15 different states a dedication aligning with the summit's long-standing goal of facilitating high-school and college graduation among its participants, "New Look" is unique as it accompanies them on their educational journey for a full decade, which is a testament to the program's deep investment in youth development as it tracks along their academic and personal growth paths, as FOX 5 Atlanta reported.
"Young people are a force of nature, and their dreams and goals power the future of our society," stated Careshia Moore, President and CEO of Usher's New Look, in a commitment to nurturing young talent and providing access to resources that could trigger societal change. With a track record where "100% of UNL participants graduate high school and 95% go on to college, with 61% being first-generation college students," the impact of the organization's work is notable.
