ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man thought to be the victim of a hit-and-run was later discovered to be shot, according to DeKalb County police.
On Tuesday, police were called to the intersection of North Hairston Road and Trace Terrace in Stone Mountain, where they found the 30-year-old dead in the roadway. The car had driven away, officers said.
But a day later, the medical examiner said the victim was also shot. The man’s cause of death hasn’t been determined yet.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. The man has not been identified yet, as police are trying to find his family.
