ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A homicide investigation had an area of northwest Atlanta shut down Thursday morning.
Police say a call came into 911 around 2:20 a.m. for a person shot on the 600 block of Jett Street. When they arrived, they found a man in his 40s shot on the sidewalk. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say they believe this was the result of a theft that had previously occurred.
Officers say the suspect is still on the run but have not provided a description at this time.
Homicide investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
