STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A bomb squad was called to investigate a “suspicious package” found outside a Stockbridge Bank of America on Wednesday morning, according to the city’s police department.
Officers were called to 5505 North Henry Boulevard at around 8 a.m. After assessing the package, specialists decided to set off a controlled detonation at around 12:20 p.m.
The package’s contents remain unclear.
North Henry Boulevard from Highway 138 to Ryans Drive was closed for several hours but has since reopened. Police remain at the bank as the investigation continues.
