GEORGIA — Seventeen hospitals in Georgia are among the best in the country, according to U.S. News andamp; World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals ranking released Tuesday.
For its 35th annual report, U.S. News evaluated more than 5,000 hospitals based on their performance across 30 medical and surgical services.
The top-ranked hospitals in Georgia are:

No. 2: Piedmont Atlanta Hospital, Atlanta
No. 2: Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, Atlanta
No. 4: Northside Hospital Atlanta, Atlanta
No. 5: Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville
No. 6: WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta
No. 7: Northside Hospital Forsyth, Cumming
No. 8: Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Johns Creek
No. 9: Emory University Hospital Midtown, Atlanta
No. 9: Northside Hospital Cherokee, Canton
No. 11: Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Fayetteville
No. 12: Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, Athens
No. 12: Piedmont Augusta Hospital, Augusta
No. 12: Northside Hospital Gwinnett, Lawrenceville
No. 12: Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center, Macon

These hospitals are among the top 466 Best Regional Hospitals in the country, according to U.S. News.
For the first time this year, U.S. News also identified 98 hospitals across the country for their success in caring for patients from historically underserved communities. In Georgia, the following hospitals were recognized:

To calculate the 2024-2025 Best Hospitals for the Honor Roll, specialty and region, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures. Data came from the Centers for Medicare andamp; Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations, and medical specialists. The Procedures andamp; Conditions ratings are based entirely on objective patient care measures.
