SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — Loved ones will gather to say goodbye to Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan at a Celebration of Life ceremony on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old, whose legal name is Dequantes Devontay Lamar, died Sept. 5. The artist is known for hit records "Type of Way," "Lifestyle" and "Flex." The ceremony will be held Sept. 17 at World Changers Church International, which is located at 2500 Burdett Road.

Fans who have obtained tickets will also be able to attend a viewing Tuesday morning ahead of the ceremony. Due to the large crowd anticipated, some officials are warning of potential traffic impacts. Police are telling drivers to allow extra time for their commutes.

Below are details about road closures and information about the service.

Traffic impacts

The City of South Fulton Police Department shared there are several road closures happening from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. near the following intersections of Old National:

Burdett Road

Pleasant Hill

Road Surrey Trail

Jerome Road

Jolly Road

Old Bill Cook Road

"The City of South Fulton Police Department will have additional officers patrolling the Old National Corridor and throughout the city, prepared to handle incidents or address any potential concerns," a social media post said. "We will be working with our community partners, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and College Park Police Department to reduce traffic impacts in the area."

Rich Homie Quan celebration of life details

According to a flier posted by Atlanta radio host Ryan Cameron on Instagram, the details of the Celebration of Life service are below.

When: Next Tuesday, September 17, 11 a.m.

Where: World Changers Church International, 2500 Burdett Road

Dress: Casual, business-type attire that is respectful and no RIP t-shirts.

Parking: Will be at the lot on Pleasant Hill Rd. SW directly across the street from the church.

Filming/recording inside services: Not allowed, ticketing site says this will be "strictly enforced."

Note: A public viewing for ticket holders will also be conducted from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. prior to the services. Doors will close at 10 a.m. sharp. Ticket information is provided here.

Born in Atlanta, Rich Homie Quan rose to fame in the early 2010s and found mainstream music success with his 2013 single "Type of Way." His 2015 single "Flex" peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rich Homie Quan was a member of the music group Rich Gang, where he produced music and a number of top hits in the 2010s as a solo artist. Quan was known for his "melodic flow and catchy hooks," as described by entertainment magazine Variety.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1990, the medical examiner's office said. In 2011, he started making trap music and collaborated with fellow Atlanta rappers such as Young Thug and 2 Chainz and other big-name rappers such as Gucci Mane, Trinidad James, YG and more, according to Variety.

An incident report from the Atlanta Police Department that was taken on Sept. 5 shows officers responded to a medical call at a home along Hamden Forest Drive SW in Atlanta just after 11:20 a.m. The 33-year-old appeared to be unresponsive.

He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the report indicates. While an autopsy has been performed, an official cause of his death has not been released yet.

The rapper was the oldest of three siblings, according to Rolling Stone.
