ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Lawrenceville man was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of killing three people during a 2020 home invasion, according to the Gwinnett County District Attorney.
According to the district attorney, Justice Lusk, 25, shot and killed 64-year-old Bob Caverly, 33-year-old Steven Andrew Finch, and 45-year-old Eugene McClam on Nov. 21, 2020.
The district attorney said Lusk took an Uber to Caverly’s home on Creek Water Court in Lawrenceville and shot the three men. He took a bookbag and a blanket from the home and tried to take a Lyft from the home, but the driver refused. Lusk then ran away before stashing the bookbag, blanket and “other items” at a home on Millstream Trail.
Police found Caverly and Finch dead inside the home and McClam injured but alive on a neighbor’s porch. McClam was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
The district attorney said police later found an AK-47, a handgun, muddy clothes and a “large amount” of methamphetamines and marijuana. According to the district attorney, Lusk went to Caverly’s home to steal the drugs.
Lusk was convicted of three counts of malice murder, three counts of felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
He was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences plus five years without parole.
