A new owner will soon move in to HGTV's 2024 Smart Home!
The winner of the serene yet ultra modern abode in Atlanta, Ga. is Sarita Colberg, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal. The Fort Bragg, Calif. resident has won the newly renovated home designed by Tiffany Brooks and all the furniture inside, along with an all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV and $150,000.
“I am such a big fan of HGTV and these sweepstakes. Winning this is just so life-changing,” Colberg says of receiving the prize package that’s valued at over $1 million.
Colberg has entered the sweepstakes “for years” and was selected from over 81 million entries, according to a press release from the network. She currently lives in Northern California with her husband, two children and three grandchildren and has run her own family childcare business for 25 years.
In April, PEOPLE got an exclusive first look at a video tour of the home in which Brooks revealed all the design details and high-tech features in the cozy space.
The designer previously noted that the home’s “smart living solutions and cozy feel will provide the winner the perfect balance.” She continued, “this year’s home is a sophisticated retreat where neutral, relaxed and airy spaces meet modern, high tech, sleek features.”
Colberg’s favorite part of the 2,035-square-foot pad is the butler’s pantry because she can keep all of her appliances tucked away thanks to its extensive storage space.
She also loves the modern kitchen, which includes double windows that overlook the lush backyard. Brooks referred to the space as “the most head-turning renovation that we have in the house” during the video tour.
Meanwhile, the “airy” living room features a wall-spanning fireplace, skylights, and a library with a TV that can also function “as a piece of art.” It also includes folding glass doors for easy indoor/outdoor living.
The primary bedroom boasts a number of “smart features” for Colberg and her family to enjoy. Some of these include remote-controlled shades, LED lights wrapped around the ceiling and a headboard equipped with a reading light and bluetooth connectivity.

In nod to Atlanta being known as “the city in the forest,” Brooks says, the home offers a hand-painted mural inspired by nature in the second guest bedroom, as well as a “massive living plant wall” installed in the front exterior of the home.
