Fried chicken lovers can’t get enough of this Georgia chicken joint.

So it’s no surprise that Rock’s Chicken andamp; Fries in Atlanta was rated as serving the best fried chicken in the Peach State, according to Yelp.

“What better way to celebrate summer than with some of the best comfort food around?” the review site wrote. “We’re talking about the mouth-watering, crunchy, and full of flavor ... fried chicken.”

The list, published ahead of National Fried Chicken Day on July 6, highlights chicken shops “with a large concentration” of glowing reviews from Yelp “elites” — or active users who contribute detailed, thoughtful reviews in the online community.

Why folks love it

Rock’s Chicken andamp; Fries opened in 2015 and has been serving Atlanta’s Buckhead community ever since.

The business was founded by Steve “Rock” Snyder Sr. and is now run by his sons, Steve Snyder Jr. and Scott Snyder.

“We use fresh, all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken for the tastiest and healthiest meal,” the restaurant wrote on its Yelp page. “Choose from buttermilk fried, grilled, or vegan options to satisfy every palate.”

Nestled in the Phipps Plaza food court, the chicken joint offers classic chicken tenders, sandwiches, salads, wings and frozen custard for dessert, according to its website.

On Yelp, customers gushed about the homemade dressings and sauces, including buttermilk ranch, honey dijon and buffalo.

“The chicken sandwich and sauces are fire here!” one reviewer wrote. “Highly recommend this joint. Very well priced and better chicken sandwich than Chick-fil-A!”

Someone else raved about the chicken tenders, writing: “... so light and chicken always cooked to perfection never dry. Homemade sauces and big beautiful salads!”

“It’s a restaurant quality chicken sandwich you can grab on the go and I will definitely eat here again and try other items on their menu,” another customer said. “Great customer service as well.”

Other popular menu items include the deluxe chicken sandwich, chicken salad and mushroom Swiss sandwich.

“We’re very honored to be considered the best fried chicken in Georgia,” co-owner Steve Snyder Jr. told McClatchy News in a phone interview. “Thank you to all of our customers and our vendors who made this possible, and our employees as well.”
