I'm not always the most adventurous of eaters: I'm a vegetarian and don't care for spicy dishes. It's for this reason that I spent much of my life avoiding ramen. Like many uninformed Westerners, I thought of it as a dish that's made from colorful 99-cent packages picked up at your local grocery store. A staple of impoverished college students, perhaps, but not a classy dish enjoyed by those with more discerning palates. I recently had the oh-so-pleasant experience of realizing just how wrong I was when I tried restaurant ramen for the first time, and it's quickly become one of my favorite dishes that I seek out when traveling. In a state with as many international restaurants as Georgia, I'm sure there are plenty of really incredible ramen dishes all over the Peach State, but I've yet to find any more delicious than Okiboru Ramen andamp; Tsukemen. You'll find four locations throughout the Atlanta area, and while I've been frequenting the newest, in Buford, there are other branches in Sandy Springs, Duluth, and Buckhead. Whichever one you go to, you're sure to find some of the best ramen near Atlanta.

The Buford location, pictured above, is conveniently located just outside the Mall of Georgia, the largest mall in the Peach State. I first visited on a whim after stopping by for a little shopping. There's no shortage of attractions in the area if you're looking to enjoy a day trip. This is one of the busiest of Atlanta's suburbs, and you'll find tons of great shopping opportunities and delicious restaurants...though, I've got to say, Okiboru is definitely the best I've tried thus far!

The restaurant's other locations are in New York City (plus a now-shuttered branch in Los Angeles). In 2019, Okiboru was awarded the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. The Bib Gourmand Award is intended to recognize quality restaurants that serve amazing food at lower price points. The famous Michelin Star scale is typically reserved for fine dining restaurants with much higher food bills.

I highly recommend starting off your meal with an appetizer of garlic nori fries. These crispy fries were an incredible texture. I preferred them without the included garlic mayonnaise-based sauce, as I found that they were delicious enough to not need condiments.

For the main course, I ordered yasai ramen, the restaurant's only vegetarian broth. I had no idea this veggie-and-mushroom broth dish would be so delicious, but it's no exaggeration to say it's one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. I had to refrain from licking the bowl clean each time I've eaten here, because it really is that good! The homemade broth is simmered for hours each day, leading to a rich flavor full of umami and that comforting feeling that comes from eating a warm dish.

There are a lot of great restaurants in this area of the state, but I'm honestly going to have trouble visiting anywhere other than Okiboru when I'm nearby! I am not typically a fan of hot food on a warm day, but this ramen was so delicious that I am sure I'll be enjoying it year-round.

I love the Buford area so much - from the Mall of Georgia to the myriad of international grocery stores, there's a lot to do in this Atlanta suburb. Check out the great vacation rentals in Buford, GA available through Vrbo.

You never know what the weather will be like in New England. A couple of years ago, my family was all prepared for the winter ahead of time. We pulled out all the boots, gloves, and snow pants early and even bought a brand-new snowblower. Well, it seems that Mother Nature had her own ideas of what that particular winter should look like in Massachusetts. We barely had enough snow to make a single snowball! While I certainly didn't miss the slippery driving and hours of shoveling the heavy white stuff, I was sad that I couldn't go sledding, build snowmen, and watch my neighborhood turn into a beautiful winter wonderland. So, what is the Farmers' Almanac 2024 winter in Massachusetts prediction? Well, we're about to find out!

As it turns out, folks in Massachusetts may not be able to enjoy as much snowy fun during the 2024-2025 winter season. The Farmer's Almanac winter weather prediction in Massachusetts shows that we should expect a calmer, milder season.

If you are dreaming of a white Christmas 2024, then your wishes might not come true. The Farmers’ Almanac is predicting lower than normal snowfall and higher than normal temperatures that doesn't bode well for snow on Christmas Day.

Be prepared early — we may even get hit with an end-of-year blizzard! Hats and mittens might be good stocking stuffers this year!

As the new year blows in, so do the storms.

The warm water temperature effects of El Niño may bring heavy snow, sleet, rain, and downright frigid temps to Massachusetts in early 2024.

The second week of the year is predicted to be particularly stormy.

There should be lots of opportunities for sledding, winter sports, and snowball fights this January.

Get ready to spread the love during Valentine’s Day, but don’t put the snowblowers and shovels away just yet.

Another big storm may make its way to New England during the second week in February.

According to the Farmers' Almanac mathematical and astronomical weather prediction formula, another big one could blanket Massachusetts with even more snow during the first week of March.

And then April rolls around and beautiful spring days begin.

April Fools!!! The Farmers’ Almanac predicts that parts of New England may see snow as late as the third week of the month.

How do you feel about all these snowy predictions? Do you think that the Farmers' Almanac is correct?

If the snow is coming, we might as well get out and enjoy it! If you are looking for some cold weather fun, check out these unforgettable things to do and places to visit in Winter. It truly is a difficult thing to whittle down a list of the best pizza places in Atlanta, especially when there are so many out there that are mouthwateringly delicious. *Sigh*, it's a tough job but someone's got to do it, right? It's a known fact that pretty much everyone loves pizza. The gooey, melted cheese, the sweet, yet tangy sauce, a crust baked to perfection each and every time. What's not to love? For those of you who didn't know, Atlanta has some insane pizza spots just begging to be tested and tried. Here is a list of our favorites.

1. Varasano’s Pizzeria—2171 Peachtree Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30309

Varasano's Pizzeria sure is out of this world. Not only is their crust a perfect combination of crispy AND soft, they also feature unique pies like the famous Mozzarella di Bufala, or Nana's.

2. Antico Pizza—1099 Hemphill Ave NW Atlanta, GA 30318

It's hard not to love Antico's Pizza. The tangy, sweet sauce and the chewy, doughy, yet charred on the outside crust make this a must-try in Atlanta. Besides, when the owner brings over his own ovens from Naples, Italy, you know that place means business.

3. Pizza Bella—1799 Briarcliff Rd NE Atlanta, GA 30306

This no-frills pizza joint is a great place to pick up a pie after a long day at work. They take their pies seriously at Pizza Bella, and truthfully any pizza place that can make a gluten free pizza look as incredible as the one above is A-Okay in our book.

4. Fellini's Pizza—1991 Howell Mill Road Northwest Atlanta, GA 30318

Everybody raves about the Fellini's Pizza. The slices of pizza are huge and cheesy, and covered in fresh toppings. It's delicious, casual, and always from scratch. You MUST try the Fellini's Special for an out-of-this-world experience.

5. Ammazza—591 Edgewood Ave Atlanta, GA 30312

People don't just gush about the pizza here at Ammazza, it's also the casual atmosphere and artistic vibe that garners attention, too. Try the Margherita pizza with truffle oil and mushrooms for a flavor explosion on your tongue.

6. Savage Pizza—484 Moreland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307

Savage Pizza is definitely a rare breed of pizza places. They are famous for their spicy red pepper sauce, which adds a bit of a kick to every bite. They also feature some really interesting specialty pies like the Buttafuoco shown above!

7. Cameli's Pizza—337 Moreland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307

Two words for you: Monster Slice. That's right, Cameli's Pizza serves up some of the tastiest pizza in the city, not to mention some of the biggest. Snag yourself a Monster Slice of your choosing and you'll be in taste-bud heaven.

8. Fritti—309 N Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30307

What most people love above Fritti is that they have consistently amazing pizza each and every day. Mix that in with a relaxed, casual atmosphere, and a chocolate soup for dessert and you have yourself the perfect Sunday afternoon.

9. Ribalta—1080 Peachtree St NE Ste 9 Atlanta, GA 30309

Ribalta is a great place when you're looking for a few things: intensely flavorful pizza, soft yet crisp crust, and Wine Wednesdays for ladies. But really, the pizza is outstanding. Try the Parm Pizza for a new spin on tradition.

10. Jack's Pizza andamp; Wings—676 Highland Ave NE Atlanta, GA 30312

Here's what we love about Jack's: the pizza is pretty dang weird, yet awfully delicious. When we say weird, we mean pies like the Soul Food pizza which combines fried chicken, collard greens, mashed potatoes and gravy. But you know what? It's phenomenal.

Have you ever chowed down at any of these pizza spots in Atlanta? Which one is your favorite?
