Fall in Atlanta brings a lot of things. The ability to eat on a patio without melting. Trips to North Georgia for apple picking. Walking the Beltline to enjoy the trees painted in vibrant hues of red, orange, and gold. Renewed hope for a winning Falcons season (however fleeting). And of course, our favorite activity of all: scouting out the city's latest restaurant offerings. As we await the chance to put our favorite sweaters and hoodies back into everyday rotation, we're eagerly eyeing these expected fall openings, too.

THE SPOTS

Opening: October 2024

Atlanta’s first Toastique is about to land in Midtown, bringing an assortment of gourmet toasts like the avocado smash, one with hummus, and the PB crunch.

Opening: Fall 2024

A Spanish-style tapas bar, La Metro, will open in Ponce City Market. The spot comes from the chef behind El Super Pan, and will also offer Spanish and Portuguese wine, beer, and cider.

Opening: Fall 2024

Popular pop-up Mother's Best Fried Chicken will open a brick-and-mortar location this fall in downtown Decatur. Known for its seasoned-to-the-bone fried chicken, brined with a hint of brown sugar, the new spot will serve up buckets of chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, and crispy tenders.

Opening: Fall 2024

If you remember and loved BBQ spot B’s Cracklin, put on your smiley face because the pitmaster behind it is set to open a new BBQ restaurant, Bryan Furman BBQ. It’ll open this August in the old Herb’s Rib Shack in Cobb County and will start off as take-out only.

Opening: Fall 2024

If you miss the vibes Sound Table brought to Atlanta's Old Fourth Ward, then this one's for you. DJ Ree De La Vega, who's behind the popular dance party, Chaka Khan Hacienda, is taking over the former Sound Table space. Set to open in July, Pisces will bring a mix of music, drinks, and Tijuana-style street tacos from Vice Taco Truck.

Opening: Late 2024

A new wine bar and restaurant is on the way to Poncey-Highland from the team behind Miller Union. The new restaurant won't be far from Tio Lucho's and will feature simple, thoughtful dishes with a wine-focused menu.

Opening: Fall 2024

Expect coffee, tea, Korean baked goods, and more at the latest location of White Windmill Bakery and Cafe, located at Uptown Atlanta (the area around Lindberg MARTA Station).

El Valle, a Mexican restaurant with a range of Latin wines to choose from, will open a second location in Brookhaven.

In late spring, Wild Heaven Beer is set to open a third brewery and taproom in Toco Hills. The new opening will feature a collaboration with Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, who will operate the kitchen. The brewery will also feature a farm winery program.

Downtown gets this new two-level restaurant and bar—from the husband-and-wife team behind Che Butter Jonez, a tiny but mighty sandwich shop on Cleveland Ave. Butter + Scotch will feature lamb ragu, whole snapper, and other Afro-Caribbean- and Bermudian-tinged dishes.

DelBar, our favorite Inman Park restaurant, is plotting two new locations across the city. The chic Middle Eastern restaurant will take over the King + Duke space in Buckhead and join West Midtown’s booming expansion with a spot in the new Star Metals building.

Opening: Winter 2023/24

This Northwest Atlanta institution famous for its long lines and hefty takeout trays of whole fried fish and fries hasn’t had a brick-and-mortar operation since 2018. With the backing of Killer Mike and T.I., that changes when a new building finally opens later this year on the old spot’s footprint.

Opening: Winter 2023/24

Summerhill is adding underground parlor, Redacted, to its growing roster off Georgia Ave. The cocktail list will be inspired by conspiracy theories to go along with their basement digs. We like a good theme, and as long as it’s more Area 51-type theories than election-denying vibes, we might have a new bar to put on our rotation.
