Ahhh, Mexican food. One of the most sought after cuisines in the country. But why? Is it the plethora of fresh ingredients in every savory bite? Is it the heat that fills your body with every slice of jalapeno? Or perhaps it's the smooth, creamy texture of the perfect bowl of guacamole? Regardless of the reasons, Mexican food is oh-so-tasty---and we just can't get enough.

So, we decided to do some searching in order to find some of the best Mexican restaurants in all of Georgia. We want those soft homemade tortillas, those secret recipes passed down from generation to generation, and that sweet, tangy taste of an authentic margarita. Have a look at some of our favorites:

1. La Parrilla Mexican Restaurant, Savannah

This Mexican joint located in the heart of Savannah is said to have some seriously satisfying cuisine. The portions are big and the staff is friendly. (Not to mention their enchiladas and chiptole shrimp are equally to die for.)

2. Taquería La Oaxaqueña, Jonesboro

This little Mexican spot is a huge fan favorite among the locals. People rave about such signature dishes as the Tlayuda and huarache, but mostly they go for the SALSA BAR. Wahoo!

3. Loncheria Los Dos Amigos, Macon

This family-style restaurant comes highly recommended for authentic Mexican cuisine. The tortillas are always fresh and the beans are always tasty.

4. Smiley's Flea Market, Macon

Although the area may be a bit questionable for some, this flea market is known to be a secret spot for delicious authentic Mexican food. Visit one of the four food trucks to get your hands on some mouthwatering Mexican fare.

5. Nuevo Laredo Cantina, Atlanta

This hoppin' Mexican spot features some of the tastiest margaritas around, plus deliciously fresh chips and guacamole. Some fan favorites include the beef brisket and the lobster tacos.

6. Blaxican Food Truck, Alpharetta/Atlanta

Although their permanent location has temporarily closed, they're still truckin' around town in their food truck. Blaxican mixes both southern cuisine and Mexican food to create a truly flavorful experience.

7. Taqueria La Parrilla, Athens

You need to visit Taqueria La Parrilla if you're looking for some scrumptious Mexican dessert; like the Sopapilla, which features a crisp, fried flour tortilla topped with honey, cinnamon, chocolate syrup, ice cream and whipped cream. Oh, and don't forget the cherry!

8. El Don Taco Bus, Acworth

You really can't beat authentic Mexican cuisine at such affordable prices. The steak tacos and tomatillo salsa are big recommendations next time you visit El Don Taco Bus.

I don't know about you, but tacos are on the menu for me tonight. We couldn't quite fit all the best Mexican spots in Georgia on our list, but we want you to share your favorites in the comments below! Who knows, your restaurant-of-choice may just make the list next time.

When I was younger, I thought the end-all-be-all of hot dog toppings was ketchup. The end. And yet, over the years my palate has developed to no longer crave just the simplicity of liquified tomato, but rather a hearty scoop of homemade chili, maybe some chopped onions, and heck, throw in some sauerkraut for good measure. We're lucky to live in a state that still honors the hot dog as a beloved dining option, which is why we recommend visiting places like Brandi's World Famous Hot Dogs in Marietta when the hot dog hankering hits.

Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs in Marietta, Georgia, is a beloved local institution known for its fiery chili dogs and rich history. For decades, this humble hot dog joint has been serving up a simple yet irresistible menu, drawing both locals and visitors from afar who crave the perfect blend of heat and flavor.

Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs is a continuation of a Georgia legend that began with Betty Cantrell’s famous chili recipe. Brandi Dove, a former waitress, took over the business in the 2000s and has been carrying on the tradition ever since. Her commitment to keeping the original recipe and atmosphere intact has made Brandi’s a hotspot for anyone looking for an authentic taste of Southern hospitality.

The restaurant’s no-frills setup is part of its charm. It’s the kind of place where you order at the counter and can see your food being prepared fresh. Despite the name “World Famous,” Brandi’s remains true to its roots, offering a friendly, down-home experience that keeps people coming back for more.

When you visit Brandi’s, you can expect a straightforward menu, but what it lacks in variety, it more than makes up for in quality. The restaurant is small, often packed with regulars, and exudes a welcoming, old-school vibe. It's cash-only, so be sure to bring some bills with you! You’ll often find a line out the door during lunch hours, but don’t let that deter you—the service is fast, and the wait is always worth it.

The star of the menu at Brandi’s is, without question, the chili dog. Known for its spicy, homemade chili, Brandi’s dogs are topped with onions and mustard to create a flavor explosion that hits all the right notes. The heat from the chili is perfectly balanced by the soft, steamed buns and juicy hot dogs, making each bite unforgettable.

In addition to the famous chili dogs, you can also get plain hot dogs or slaw dogs for those looking for a little less spice. Pair your dog with a side of crispy fries and a cold drink, and you've got yourself a classic, satisfying meal.

Brandi’s World Famous Hot Dogs isn’t just about great food—it’s about tradition, community, and a no-nonsense approach to serving some of the best chili dogs in Georgia.

I want to preface this article by saying I'm not a fan of brunch. I don't often eat breakfast and frankly, if my first meal of the day is lunch, I'd rather it be lunch-type foods than things like waffles and French toast that you typically see served at brunch. I was recently stopping by Buford, GA for the day and had heard great things about Aqua Terra Bistro. This is one of the most popular restaurants in this bustling Atlanta suburb, and while the lunch and dinner menu looked amazing, my schedule worked out so that an early brunch was the best option for a meal here. I may not usually be a fan of brunch, but I can say one thing: I am definitely a fan of Aqua Terra Bistro! This was easily some of the best food I've ever had in a restaurant, and from the impeccable service to the incredibly well-thought-out flavors, this was a meal I won't soon forget.

Aqua Terra Bistro is tucked away in Buford's historic district, a cute little downtown area filled with restaurants and local shops. I had a reservation for this Saturday morning meal, but walk-in diners are also accepted.

The restaurant is classy without being too stuffy, and I adored the unique artwork on the walls. The soft lighting and brown paper table coverings made it feel homey, and my server was extremely personable and funny, making me feel immediately at ease. He answered all of my questions and provided helpful recommendations.

The meal began with a complementary serving of homemade bread served up with "The Sauce," an Aqua Terra creation that was absolutely divine. The tomato-based sauce was similar to bruschetta, but with a fruity tang that made it enticing. It tasted so good that I purchased a jar to bring home.

I know I said I don't normally like breakfast foods, but I was ever-so-tempted by the French toast flight: and what a great pick it was! It was served with three different kinds of homemade sauces, including a delectable berry compote and a peach compote. The star of the show in my book, though, was the chipotle orange anglaise. It had just a touch of heat that was the perfect complement to the sweetness of the oranges. The medley of flavors had me wishing I was a professional food critic just so I could identify all the intricate notes.

The dishes here are beautifully presented, and this is definitely some of the best brunch in the Atlanta area. My dining companion opted for a seafood omelette. He's typically the type to scarf down his food, but he took it slow and savored this dish of lobster, shrimp, and chorizo, declaring it amazing.

I opted for a side of grits with my meal and they were so delicious that I was tempted to order another serving to take home. They were hearty and comforting, just the way Southern food should be, and I couldn't believe how rich the flavors were.

Aqua Terra Bistro offers up brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and serves from a lunch and dinner menu that looks just as tasty throughout the rest of the week. I can't wait to come back and try something from one of the other menus here, because the brunch experience was honestly mind-blowing. Take it from me: Aqua Terra definitely deserves all the rave reviews!
