Savannah named a top 3 city in the U.S. by Travel + Leisure

Travel + Leisure, a magazine based in New York City, named Savannah, GA, as a top three city to visit in the United States in its annual World’s Best Awards (WBA) survey, highlighting the best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.

Travel + Leisure, a magazine based in New York City, named Savannah, GA, as a top three city to visit in the United States in its annual World’s Best Awards (WBA) survey, highlighting the best hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.

According to the magazine, more than 186,000 T+L readers participated in the 2024 survey this year, with over 700,000 votes cast across 8,700 properties.

The criteria voters used to access cities include the following:

Sights/landmarks

Culture

Food

Friendliness

Shopping

Value

Survey participants chose to rate the criteria as excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor, with the final scores being the average for all of the responses.

T+L ranked the top cities by their highest average.

avannah was ranked third on the list with a reader score of 85.27 and was named a WBA Hall of Fame honoree, meaning that voters have consecutively voted the city on the lists for the past 10 years.

T+L stated that “readers adore Savannah for its leafy parks, great shopping, carriage rides, and cemetery tours.”
