Cedar Fair + Six Flags = Six Flags
Today, Cedar Fair and Six Flags announced the completion of their merge is “expected to occur” on July 1, 2024. As announced last year, the entities currently known as Cedar Fair Entertainment Company and Six Flags Entertainment Corporation will merge to form a combined company going by the name of the latter, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
Following the merger, the company will operate 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks, and nine resort properties across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Though Six Flags will be the combined company’s name, most of its executive team will be comprised of current Cedar Fair leaders. Additionally, the merged company’s headquarters will be located on Cedar Fair’s current HQ turf of Charlotte, N.C. (home of Carowinds, a Cedar Fair park) and “will maintain significant finance and administrative operations in Sandusky, Ohio” (near Cedar Point, as Cedar Fair presently does). Six Flags is currently based in Arlington, Texas (home to Six Flags Over Texas).
New Six Flags Leadership
The leadership team of the newly combined company — again, now known as Six Flags — will be as follows:
“We are fortunate to have a proven team of leaders who bring decades of park-operating experience and significant expertise in integrating businesses and achieving synergy targets for the combined company,” said Zimmerman. “Their insights and complementary skill sets will be instrumental as we combine two of North America’s iconic amusement park companies and forge a new future together.”
