Dog swim days are held at public swimming pools around metro Atlanta in late summer — just before the pools are drained and closed for the season. These doggy swim days are about the only time your pup will be welcomed into a municipal pool to splash, paddle, and play fetch.

This is a permanent page that we update each year in August, with the current year’s listings for dog swim days.

Each of these dog swim day events has pretty specific rules, for health reasons.

And they all have a small fee attached.

See the details below, to be sure you’re prepared to follow the guidelines for each specific event — and click through the links to review all requirements from the official website.

Check out these other great events for dogs and their humans:

• Doggy Con festival andamp; costume contest

• The Rescue Dog Games andamp; Howl-o-Ween Party

• Pup-A-Palooza party in Johns Creek

Check out our Complete Guide to Atlanta Fall Festivals andamp; Fairs -- which covers the entire metro area and includes all the fairs and festivals from September thru November.
