Samantha Jones named successor

ATLANTA, Sept. 16, 2024 – PNC Bank announced today that Eddie Meyers, PNC regional president for Georgia, will retire Oct. 31, following a successful 25-year career with the bank. Atlanta-based banking executive Samantha Jones will succeed him.

During his tenure, Meyers has served in several key leadership positions, including more than a decade as Georgia regional president. In this role, Meyers was instrumental in PNC’s continued growth in Atlanta and across the state.

Other key leadership roles in which Meyers served at the bank include with PNC Business Credit and Harris Williams. He also helped lead regionally significant aspects of PNC’s integration of National City, which the bank acquired in 2008. Known for developing collaborative teams and growing meaningful relationships and business opportunities, Meyers’ efforts, alongside the support of the local market team, helped set the foundation for the delivery of PNC’s brand in Georgia.

A fixture in Atlanta business and civic circles, Meyers served on the executive board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Central Atlanta Progress. He was also integral in guiding PNC’s philanthropic efforts in early childhood education and the arts. Most recently, Meyers announced PNC’s support for the Woodruff Arts Center’s $67 million capital campaign with the 2026 opening of the PNC PlaySpace, an experiential learning center at the Woodruff where children can enjoy free play, interactive performances, and the chance to create, move, and make believe—all at no cost to families.

A proud Gulf War Combat Veteran and Marine Corps Captain, Meyers graduated from the United States Naval Academy, where he ran track and was an All-American in football and wrestling.

“For more than two decades, Eddie has brought tremendous skill and empathy to his work at PNC, and we are grateful for his dedication to our clients, communities and colleagues,” said Jim Hansen, PNC Office of the Regional Presidents Southeast territory executive. “Eddie is widely known and respected for his commitment to authentic leadership, and he has consistently leveraged his experiences as an athlete and service member to bring diverse perspectives and solutions to business and the community. The time and energy he has invested to build and grow PNC’s presence in the Georgia market has helped set the tone for future success and impact.”

Succeeding Meyers is Samantha Jones who brings to PNC nearly 30 years of experience and impact as a successful financial service executive. Jones was most recently executive vice president and credit executive for the Commercial Banking Credit Execution team at Wells Fargo, where from her Atlanta home base she oversaw a team of more than 1,000 global employees in support of clients with annual revenues of $10 million - $2 billion. Prior to achieving success in this executive role of global reach, Jones managed the Southern California division for Commercial Banking at Wells Fargo. During her 22 years at the bank, she also served as regional vice president, loan team manager and relationship manager.

“Samantha brings to the market extensive banking and team-building experience, a demonstrated commitment to mentorship, and a legacy of service to her clients, colleagues and the community at large,” said Hansen. “This trifecta of strengths makes her uniquely qualified to deliver on PNC’s ambition to continue growing local market share while serving communities throughout Georgia. We welcome Samantha to the PNC family, with great confidence that the Georgia market will thrive under her leadership.”

Jones is a graduate of Spelman College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in management. She earned her MBA in finance and real estate from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
