Davido will celebrate his 32nd birthday in style this year. The Lagos-raised star is returning to his hometown of Atlanta for a Davido andamp; Friends birthday bash concert on Nov. 21 at State Farm Arena.
Tickets for the concert presented by Wynn Records are currently on sale over at Ticketmaster, which is also set to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Afrobeats savant’s boundary-shattering A Good Time LP.
“With so many friends and family in the area, Atlanta is like a second home to me, so there was no better spot to throw my birthday party,” Davido said in a statement. “We’re doing it bigger than ever though, and I can’t wait for everybody to see what we’ve got planned. A big shout out to Ruben and our friends at Wynn Records for being such great partners. Personally, I can’t wait.”
Davido hasn’t tipped his hand when it comes to special guests, but fans can expect plenty of surprises and appearances from his artistic peers.
Even without dropping an album in 2024, it’s been a banner year for Davido, who made history headlining Madison Square Garden for the first time in April.
“As Africans, we’re changing the narrative of being African in America. Years ago, it was a different thing. Now, when you say you’re African, you’re proud to say it, eat the food, wear the clothes, play the music,” he told Billboard earlier this year. “And [for] the people that are coming to experience African culture for the first time, I want them to leave knowing that they’re never going to forget this.”
