ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - On Argonne Terrace in Cherokee County a Mexican restaurant failed not one, but two health inspections in a row. Tacobar Taqueria scored 42 points on Sept. 17. Then on Sept. 24, they scored 48 points and a “U” for unsatisfactory.

The report says there was no certified safety manager on staff, there was raw chicken stored over uncovered produce and the inspector observed flies swarming the kitchen area.

Management temporarily closed the restaurant to make improvements. But Atlanta News First still managed to get the owner on the phone to explain.

“The inspector, the inspection lady, has something against me and I’m taking her to court,” Tacobar Taqueria Owner Jovito Garcia said over the phone.

The owner told us that the health inspector nitpicked everything during the inspection and treated him unfairly.

“There was one, one fly,” Garcia said.

Spice House on Panola Road in Lithonia improved on a follow up this week earning 87 points and a “B” on a reinspection.

Cuts Steakhouse on Andrew Young International Boulevard in downtown Atlanta earned a 100 on their last health inspection. Congratulations, they are the winner of this week’s Golden Spatula award.

They’ve been in business for 11 years serving some of the finest steaks in the city using USDA certified beef. You also get a very cozy and classy dining experience here as well. You may want to start with the goat cheese risotto fritters, lobster bites in the shell, fried green tomatoes, bourbon glazed bacon, pecan encrusted sea bass, and with steak you have Kansas City style, filet, and tomahawk. Boy that’s good!
