Philadelphia is one of the Northeast's best cities, and a big part of that is the food. It's acclaimed for its diverse culinary scene, featuring everything from high-end authentic restaurants from around the world to one of the most impressive food halls in the entire country. But if there's one restaurant that sums up Philadelphia for me, it might just be Parc at Rittenhouse Square. This old-school French brasserie is a throwback to an era of dining where you could enjoy a classic, well-prepared French meal in an elegant setting without committing to a multi-course event. It opened in 2008 and has a reputation for serving the best breakfast in Philadelphia, but no matter when you visit, you're in for a truly special experience in one of the Keystone State's best restaurants.

Parc has been part of Philadelphia's ecosystem for over 15 years, but it feels like much longer. This elegant but casual French brasserie starts serving early and keeps going well into the night, and every meal here is one to remember.
Inside, you'll find an elegant Belle Epoque-inspired restaurant with a large dining room, so a wait for a table is rare. But if the weather's nice, Parc has one of the best outdoor dining spots in the city, lining the beautiful exterior.
One of the things I love most about this Brasserie is there is something for everyone on the menu. The breakfast menu alone is bigger than the full menu at many French restaurants.
Breakfast here is really an event, combining classic brunch staples like eggs Benedict with French icons like Vol au vent. The prices are affordable for a restaurant of this quality, and lighter options are on offer so the entire party will be happy.
At lunch and dinner, the focus shifts to classic French dishes. The steak frites here are definitely one to remember, and the lamb tagine is a wonderful taste of Morocco. Make sure to save room for dessert; the restaurant's flair is on full display.
Have you dined at Parc Restaurant in Philadelphia? Do you think it serves the best breakfast in Pennsylvania? Let us know in the comments section! You can see all the full menus on the Parc Restaurant website, and the Parc Restaurant Facebook page is the place to go for special announcements. While you're in Rittenhouse Square, the nearby Rittenhouse Hotel is one of the best and most luxurious getaways in the city. And if you're going to be staying for a few days, make sure to check out our past coverage on why Philly is perfect for a family-friendly weekend getaway.

As I explore more and more of Pennsylvania, I'm blown away by how much there is to discover. There's Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west, and hundreds of smaller cities and charming small towns in the middle that all have intriguing little surprises waiting. A perfect example is Wrightsville, a small town of a little over 2,200 people and a lot of historic charm. It's home to John Wright Restaurant, a historic waterfront restaurant in Pennsylvania that combines fantastic dining with one of the best views in central Pennsylvania and a commitment to farm-to-table cooking, making it one of the most unique restaurants in the Keystone State. We think it's worth visiting from anywhere in the state, and we're pretty sure you'll agree.

The John Wright Restaurant is a local institution, housed in a restored warehouse with a wonderful historic vibe. The restaurant is committed to a local farm-to-table menu, spotlighting produce from some of the best farmers in the area.
One of the highlights is the seasonal pizza patio, featuring an old-school pizza oven, where the restaurant bakes some of the state's best and most unique pizzas.
In the main dining room, you'll find some amazing internationally-inspired dishes. The restaurant focuses on seafood, not surprising for a waterfront restaurant. But the large menu has something for just about every taste.
If the produce here tastes fresh - and we mean really fresh - that might be because some of the components in your meal, including the herbs, come directly from the patio garden outside the restaurant.
If you visit when it's warm, request a seat on the outside dining patio; it promises one of the most amazing views in the area. And if you're in town on Sunday, check out the restaurant's famous prime rib brunch buffet.
Have you visited John Wright Restaurant in Wrightsville? Let us know what you saw and ate at this waterfront restaurant in Pennsylvania in the comments section! You can see the current seasonal menu on the John Wright Restaurant website, and the John Wright Restaurant Facebook page is a great place to see all the latest specials as they're announced. While in the area, visit PA's newest state park, Susquehanna Riverlands State Park, only a 12-minute drive away. And if you're staying the night, it's only a short drive over to nearby Marietta, where you'll find the incredible B. F. Hiestand Bed andamp; Breakfast, which is a fascinating journey into historic hospitality.

Based on the way some Seattleites talk about the Eastside, it seems like an untouchable place where you settle down, buy a house with a yard, get a dog (or a Roomba), and send your fleeting youth away in a puff of humidifier smoke.
