Atlanta will host the Super Bowl in 2028 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. It will be the fourth time the city has hosted the event. The stadium previously hosted the Super Bowl in 2019. Before it returns to Atlanta, the 2025 edition will take place in New Orleans with Kendrick Lamar as the halftime show headliner.

The NFL has confirmed that Atlanta will once again serve as the host city for the Super Bowl in 2028. This decision was announced following an official vote by the league’s ownership, and the championship game will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium , home to the Atlanta Falcons. This marks the fourth time that Atlanta has been chosen as the venue for the NFL’s most prestigious event, and the second time it will take place in this iconic stadium.

Super Bowl to make a comeback at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz stadium in 2028

The Mercedes-Benz Stadium last hosted the Super Bowl in 2019, when fans witnessed the New England Patriots ' victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Prior to this, the city's first two Super Bowls (in 1994 and 2000) took place in the now-demolished Georgia Dome, another historical venue for the city’s sporting legacy. With its state-of-the-art facilities, Atlanta has once again proven to be a prime location for hosting large-scale events, and the return of the Super Bowl to this city will further cement its status as a top sports destination.

In the build-up to the 2028 Super Bowl, several events will be held in Atlanta, including the NFL's annual awards show. This tradition is a part of the larger festivities surrounding the game, which draws massive attention not only for the match itself but also for the entertainment and fan engagement leading up to it. The Super Bowl, being the most-watched sporting event in the U.S. annually, will once again bring a spotlight on the city's ability to handle a global audience.

“This is a tremendous honor for the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia to be selected as host for Super Bowl LXII,” Falcons owner Arthur M. Blank said. “Thank you to my fellow owners for their trust in awarding Atlanta this opportunity, and thank you to Commissioner Goodell, Peter O’Reilly and the entire league for their continued leadership in making the NFL the greatest sports league in the world. Mercedes-Benz Stadium was built to host the world’s largest sporting events, and I know I speak for many when I say we are honored to bring it back to Atlanta in 2028 and build off the success of Super Bowl 53 in 2019. I look forward to working alongside our city and state officials as we continue to elevate Georgia as a premier, global sports destination.”

Before the Super Bowl heads back to Atlanta, the 2025 edition will take place in New Orleans, and in the subsequent years, it will be held in California. The San Francisco 49ers' stadium in Santa Clara will be the venue in 2026, followed by Los Angeles in 2027. Music fans have already been given something to look forward to as Grammy-winning artist Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the headline act for the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
