ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Atlanta police are searching for two robbery suspects shown on video crashing through the ceiling of a cash-checking business before they allegedly stole $150,000.

Police said they responded to a robbery at Atlanta Check Cashiers, located at 2457 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, around 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 3.

Police said they spoke with the victim, the manager of the business and the only employee present at the time.

The woman told officers she was going about her normal morning routine when she heard “loud thumping noises above her.” At first she didn’t think anything of it because of ongoing construction next door, but soon two men wearing ski masks came crashing through the ceiling.

She said one of the men yelled at her to get on the floor, grabbing her by the back of the neck and forcing her down. The suspects and the victim “then all proceeded to get down and crawl behind the back wall of the cashier’s station out of view of the business’ lobby.”

The woman said one of the suspects was on the phone with a third suspect, “providing information about who was entering the business.” At one point, the third suspect told a suspect inside that a customer was in the lobby. According to police, the suspect inside made the victim tell the customer to leave.

That’s when the suspects who crashed through the ceiling told the woman to take them to the safe, which they allegedly emptied, stashing the money in a duffle bag.

The suspects then reportedly took the victim to the bathroom and duct-taped her before checking the rest of the building “for anything else that contained money.” Police said the suspects took money from several cash drawers.

Once they were done, the suspects asked the victim “how to leave the building,” according to police. The woman said she showed the suspects the back entrance, and they left with a pink and black duffle bag containing over $150,000.

The woman said the suspects left in what appeared to be an older model, possibly black or green, two-door pickup truck driven by the third suspect.

Police said “a hole that appeared to be cut using power tools” was found on the roof of the business, directly above where the suspects crashed through the ceiling.

The victim described one suspect who crashed through the ceiling as a light-skinned Black man, around 6′0,″ possibly in his 30s, and the other suspect as a dark-skinned Black male, around 5′08,” with a slim build. She said they were both wearing ski masks and dark clothing.

The victim didn’t provide a description of the third suspect.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to submit a tip anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.StopCrimeAtl.org, or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Tipsters are eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
