FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – Georgia State University’s Rialto Center for the Arts has announced details about its exciting and eclectic 2024-2025 Rialto Series. The upcoming season will feature a wide range of acts, including RandB, funk, lively jazz, and other musicians, opera performances, and even a political comedy troupe.

The lineup of talented performers includes individuals who have earned a combined total of 17 Grammy nominations and three Grammy wins.

Georgia State University’s Office of Educational Outreach Director and Rialto Center for the Arts overseer Amy Reid stated, “We are excited for the upcoming season that features a broad range of artists – from funk to African dance, to jazz. Our 2024-25 season is designed to bring audiences from the Atlanta area and beyond to connect with the Georgia State University campus and engage with our world-renowned artists and performers.”

The Washington-based musical parody troupe Capitol Fools (formed from the previous group Capital Steps) will start the season on Saturday, September 21, 2024, with its politically focused humor.

On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the stage will be set for Cirque Kalabanté – Afrique en Cirque. Officials described the show as “a trip to African soil where the sets and costumes pay homage to the Guinean diaspora [with] high-level acrobatics, innovative choreography, and colorful rhythms.”

Tower of Power, legendary RandB and funk performers, are scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2024.

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, the all-female jazz ensemble säje, who earned a 2024 Grammy, will perform.

Georgia State University School of Music will present the 27th Annual Holiday Gala on Sunday, December 8, 2024.

On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the venue will feature the 50th Anniversary of SWEET HONEY IN THE ROCK®, the Grammy-nominated, all-female African American a cappella ensemble.

Saturday, February 8, 2025, will see The Drifters, The Platters, and Cornell Gunter’s Coasters. Multiple hits made the group famous in the 1950s.

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, audience members can enjoy the New Orleans Songbook – A Jazz at Lincoln Center PRESENTS Production with Luther S. Allison, Quiana Lynell, and Milton Suggs.

NEA jazz master and two-time Grammy victor Dee Dee Bridgewater will perform on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

“Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss II, presented by Georgia State University Opera Theater, will run on Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Fans can attend a show featuring saxophonist and clarinetist Anat Cohen with the Georgia State University Jazz Band on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Along with the Rialto Series, individuals can also enjoy the center’s popular lunchtime performing arts series, Feed Your Senses, in the lobby at noon on the third Wednesday of nearly every month, free of charge. The shows feature a different performer (speaker or artist) each month, who offers fun and casual insights into their craft.

Feed Your Senses is supported by the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, the Georgia Council for the Arts, the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, and appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly (a National Endowment for the Arts partner agency). 100 Peachtree sponsors the art series.
