ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Relief is available for people whose businesses were forced to close when water mains broke across metro Atlanta in late May and early June.
Low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are available, according to the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS).
Businesses in Atlanta and 11 counties that were affected by the water main breaks from May 31 to June 6 are eligible to receive the loans. Those counties are:
Fulton
Carroll
Cherokee
Clayton
Cobb
Coweta
DeKalb
Douglas
Fayette
Forsyth
Gwinnett
The deadline to apply is April 10, 2025.
The SBA is also scheduled to open a “Business Recovery Center” to help with the application process. More information on the center will be released soon, GEMA/HS said.
You can apply for the low-interest loans at https://lending.sba.gov.
Applicants also can contact the SBA disaster assistance customer service center at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or 1-800-659-2955 for further assistance, GEMA/HS said.
